My first ever family vacation with my brother, sister in law and my parents.

With landed in Dublin, took a rental car and explored the island together.
Our stops along the trip:
• Howth
• Kilkenny
• Cork
• Kinsale
• Ring of Kerry
• Killarney National Park
• Dingle
• Adare Village
• Cliffs of Moher
• Galway
• Dublin

The trip started hilarious immediately. We were at the security gates at the airport and my Dad forgot his flask in the backpack, as it is usually just there because it's his hiking backpack. So everybody took a sip and on we went to the north.

Howth.
After sitting at the airport and in the plane for hours we wanted to use our first day and so we drove directly to Howth. We did the Howth cliff walk to the lighthouse and back. Of course we got some irish weather in the end, wouldn't have expected any other way. The walk is really beautiful though, and very calming.

Kilkenny.
Our first real stop along our route is Kilkenny. With a super sunny weather we enjoyed the street market and the Kilkenny castle with its beautiful garden.

Cork.
We took some time to visit the old part of the city and in the end also the newer one. The English Market was quite nice and of course our first Guinness was waiting for us.

Kinsale.
Off we went to the very south of the island, to Kinsale. And oh my god how beautiful is this village? The colors, the facades, the cute little stores, the bakeries, the coffee places. We kind of fell in love with it. I could have stayed longer.

Ring of Kerry.
It's windy today. But this is the kind of mood you want at the Ring of Kerry. It makes the whole place mystical. We found the drive there a bit exhausting as the streets are narrow and a lot of buses are on the streets. But the viewpoint was amazing.

Killarney National Park.
How green can an island be? We took the Muckross Lakeside Walk and Ireland showed us how moody its weather can be. From sunshine to pouring rain we had everything.
Back in the city of Killarney the rain was of course over again. It's actually quite the nice city. We enjoyed irish whiskey in a pub with live irish folk.

Dingle peninsula.
After a nice breakfast we continued our roadtrip. The next stop was at the Dingle peninsula.
The Coumeenoole beach was really nice and we walked to the Dunmore Head. Then we took a little boat trip to see the dolphins of the island. And we saw a lot of them, super playful, they loved the boats and came as close as possible. Amazing to watch these cute creatures.

Adare.
This little village is great to see the traditional thatched houses.

Cliffs of Moher.
This morning we took off quite early. Our goal: the most famous cliffs of Ireland.
We walked the whole coastal path from the very beginning until the tourist center on this sunny day. Most of the path we walked completely alone. I was stunned how beautiful and majestic the landscape presented itself. Stunning and breathtaking. This walk was our favorite part of the roadtrip.

Galway.
The port city Galway with its colorful streets is located on the west coast of Ireland.
I personally adored this city. Street musicians everywhere and the streets are in general paved with pubs.

Dublin.
The last stop of our roadtrip.
Many people don't like Dublin, but we kind of liked it. It's old and modern at the same time. We took a tour at Guinness, strolled through the streets and visited Jameson with a tasting there.
The temple bar is just as unique and iconic as one imagines.
